Day 1 – Journey to Goulburn
Relax as we travel through Victoria and into New South Wales, stopping in Holbrook to see the famous “Submarine Town” display featuring the HMAS Otway. We continue through regional New South Wales to Goulburn for our overnight stay. This evening, enjoy a welcome dinner and settle in for the start of our festive adventure.
Day 2 – Journey to the Hunter Valley
Today we travel north through Sydney and along the Hawkesbury River before continuing into the Hunter Valley region. After lunch along the way, we arrive in Maitland, our base for the next three nights. Settle into your accommodation and enjoy a relaxed evening dinner at the hotel.
Day 3 – Morpeth & Christmas Lights Spectacular
This morning we visit Mortels Sheepskin Factory, home to the world’s largest Ugg Boots and a unique local museum experience. We then continue to the historic village of Morpeth, known for its heritage buildings, boutique shops and riverside charm. Late this afternoon we travel to the spectacular Hunter Valley Gardens Christmas Lights Spectacular, where millions of lights transform the gardens into a magical festive display. Dinner is at your own expense within the gardens before we return to our hotel.
Day 4 – Port Stephens Dolphin Cruise
Today we explore the beautiful Port Stephens region, known as “Blue Water Paradise.” We visit the Stockton Sand Dunes before arriving in Nelson Bay for lunch. This afternoon we enjoy a relaxing dolphin-watching cruise, offering the chance to see the resident pods of dolphins in their natural environment. We then return to Maitland for dinner and a relaxed evening.
Day 5 – Blue Mountains & Young
We farewell the Hunter Valley and travel south into the spectacular Blue Mountains World Heritage Area. Visit Echo Point at Katoomba to see the famous Three Sisters and take in the breathtaking valley views. We continue through Lithgow, Bathurst and the Central West before arriving in Young for our overnight stay. Dinner is included this evening at the local services club.
Day 6 – Journey Home
This morning we begin our journey home through regional New South Wales, travelling via Cootamundra and Junee before re-entering Victoria. Relax and enjoy the changing countryside as we return home with wonderful festive memories of the Hunter Valley Christmas Lights and coastal New South Wales.
