Day 1 – Journey to Merimbula

Sit back and relax as we travel through the picturesque landscapes of East Gippsland, passing through Lakes Entrance and the coastal forests of far eastern Victoria. Crossing into New South Wales, we arrive in the seaside town of Merimbula for our overnight stay. This evening, enjoy dinner with your fellow travellers before preparing for the next stage of our journey.

Day 2 – Snowy Mountains, Canberra & Floriade Festival

This morning we travel via Bega and the scenic Snowy Mountains region before arriving in Canberra. Our first stop is the spectacular Floriade Festival, Australia’s largest celebration of spring. Wander through vibrant floral displays featuring over one million blooms, enjoy the festival atmosphere and explore the lakeside surrounds of Commonwealth Park. We also visit the National Capital Exhibition, offering a fascinating insight into the planning and development of Australia’s capital city.

Day 3 – Old Parliament House, Cockington Green & Tulip Top Gardens

Today begins with a visit to the Museum of Australian Democracy at Old Parliament House, where you’ll discover the stories and events that helped shape modern Australia. We then explore the charming miniature world of Cockington Green Gardens before spending the afternoon at the magnificent Tulip Top Gardens. Renowned for its spectacular spring displays, the gardens feature colourful tulips, daffodils, blossoms and beautifully landscaped grounds.

Day 4 – Australian War Memorial & Canberra Highlights

A highlight of any Canberra visit, the Australian War Memorial offers a moving tribute to the men and women who have served Australia in times of conflict. Take time to explore the galleries and exhibits before enjoying panoramic views across Canberra from Mount Ainslie Lookout. This afternoon we visit the historic Changi Chapel at Duntroon Military College and enjoy a scenic coach tour through Canberra’s embassy district, where impressive buildings reflect the architecture and culture of nations from around the world.

Day 5 – Farewell Canberra

After breakfast we farewell Canberra and begin our journey home via Cooma, Bombala and East Gippsland. Relax and enjoy the changing scenery as we travel through the Monaro region and coastal forests before arriving home with wonderful memories of Canberra’s spectacular spring gardens and attractions.
