Day 1 – Western Victoria & Mildura
Travel north through Central Victoria, passing historic gold mining towns and classic Mallee landscapes on our way to Mildura. After a comfortable day of travel, we arrive at our overnight accommodation and enjoy dinner with our fellow travellers.
Day 2 – Riverland, Burra & Port Augusta
This morning we farewell Mildura and travel into South Australia through the Riverland region. We continue via historic Burra, known for its rich copper mining history, before travelling through the Southern Flinders Ranges region to Port Augusta for our overnight stay.
Day 3 – Whyalla, Eyre Peninsula & Port Lincoln
Today we travel along the east coast of the Eyre Peninsula, passing through coastal towns including Whyalla, Cowell, Arno Bay, Port Neill and Tumby Bay. This afternoon we arrive in Port Lincoln, our home for the next three nights, staying in quality accommodation overlooking beautiful Boston Bay.
Day 4 – Port Lincoln & Boston Bay
Spend the day discovering Port Lincoln and the surrounding coastal region, renowned for its seafood, aquaculture and spectacular natural harbour. Enjoy local sightseeing, scenic lookouts and time to take in the relaxed seaside atmosphere of this vibrant regional city. Dinner this evening will be enjoyed in Port Lincoln.
Day 5 – Coffin Bay & Seafood Cruise
A highlight of the tour, today we explore more of the Eyre Peninsula including beautiful Coffin Bay, famous for its pristine waters and seafood. We also enjoy a memorable seafood cruise through Boston Bay, learning about the region’s fishing and aquaculture industries while enjoying fresh local tastings and views across Port Lincoln, Boston Bay and the surrounding coastline.
Day 6 – Port Lincoln to Port Pirie
After breakfast we farewell Port Lincoln and begin our journey north along the Lincoln Highway. Travelling through the coastal towns of the Eyre Peninsula, we return via Whyalla and Port Augusta before continuing to Port Pirie for our overnight stay.
Day 7 – Clare Valley, Barossa Valley & Mannum
Today we travel through the Clare Valley and into the famous Barossa Valley, one of South Australia’s best-known food and wine regions. After lunch in Angaston, we visit a local winery for a tasting before continuing through the Torrens Valley to Mannum, located close to the banks of the Murray River.
Day 8 – Western Victoria & Home
This morning we farewell Mannum and begin our journey home through South Australia and Western Victoria. Travelling via Bordertown, Nhill, Horsham and the Ballarat region, we arrive home with wonderful memories of Port Lincoln, the Eyre Peninsula and South Australia’s coastal and regional landscapes.
