Journey through the heart of western Victoria on this four-day tour exploring the renowned Wimmera & Mallee Silo Art Trail. Marvel at six spectacular silo murals created by internationally acclaimed artists, discover the magnificent Grampians National Park, and visit the heritage-listed Murtoa Stick Shed. This relaxed itinerary combines striking landscapes, fascinating local history and unforgettable regional experiences.
Day 1 – Grampians National Park & Horsham
Travel west through Victoria to the spectacular Grampians National Park, one of the state’s most iconic natural attractions. Enjoy time in Halls Gap before exploring scenic lookouts including Boroka Lookout, Reed Lookout, Elephant’s Hide and Zumsteins, taking in panoramic mountain views and rugged sandstone landscapes. Later this afternoon we continue to Horsham, our home for the next three nights, where we settle into comfortable accommodation and enjoy dinner.
Day 2 – Murtoa Stick Shed & Northern Silo Art Trail
Today we discover the first highlights of Victoria’s famous Silo Art Trail. Visit the remarkable heritage-listed Murtoa Stick Shed before travelling through the Wimmera to admire the impressive silo murals at Rupanyup, Sheep Hills and Brim. After lunch in Warracknabeal, return to Horsham for another relaxing evening.
Day 3 – Southern Mallee Silo Art Trail
Continue exploring the renowned Silo Art Trail as we travel through the Mallee visiting the spectacular silo artworks at Rosebery, Lascelles and Patchewollock. Learn the stories behind these remarkable murals while enjoying the wide-open landscapes of regional Victoria, with lunch in Hopetoun before returning to Horsham.
Day 4 – Southern Grampians, Dunkeld & Home
Farewell Horsham as we journey through the beautiful Southern Grampians, travelling via Dunkeld, Lake Bolac and Skipton. After a lunch stop en route, we continue home through Ballarat, arriving back at your club later this afternoon following four wonderful days exploring western Victoria.
