From the rugged beauty of the west coast and the pristine wilderness of Cradle Mountain to the historic charm of Hobart, Richmond and Port Arthur, this journey showcases some of the island’s most iconic destinations. Enjoy scenic cruising, spectacular landscapes, fascinating history and the warm hospitality that makes Tasmania such a popular touring destination.
Day 1 – Welcome to Tasmania’s East Coast
Our Tasmanian adventure begins with a flight to Launceston before travelling through the picturesque north-east of the island. Passing through charming country towns and coastal landscapes, we make our way to Scamander on Tasmania’s beautiful east coast. Tonight, relax by the beachfront and enjoy dinner overlooking the ocean.
Day 2 – East Coast Journey to Hobart
Today we follow Tasmania’s stunning east coast, travelling through seaside towns and spectacular coastal scenery. We stop in the historic village of Richmond, home to Australia’s oldest bridge still in use and one of the country’s most charming heritage townships. After time to explore and enjoy lunch, we continue to Hobart, our home for the next three nights.
Day 3 – Salamanca Market, Mount Wellington & Hobart by Night
Enjoy a leisurely morning exploring Hobart’s famous Salamanca Market and vibrant waterfront precinct. This afternoon we discover historic Battery Point before travelling to the summit of Mount Wellington (weather permitting) for breathtaking views across Hobart and the Derwent River. Tonight, experience the magic of Hobart from the water on a memorable dinner cruise featuring a three-course meal and sparkling city lights.
Day 4 – Port Arthur & the Tasman Peninsula
Today’s journey takes us through the spectacular scenery of the Tasman Peninsula, renowned for its dramatic coastline, towering sea cliffs and rugged ocean views. Visit the World Heritage-listed Port Arthur Historic Site and learn the stories of Australia’s most famous convict settlement. A harbour cruise around the historic Isle of the Dead adds another fascinating chapter to this unforgettable day.
Day 5 – Wilderness, Waterfalls & Queenstown
Farewell Hobart as we travel into Tasmania’s stunning wilderness regions. Visit Mount Field National Park and the beautiful Russell Falls before continuing through the scenic Derwent Valley and Lake St Clair National Park, part of the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area. This evening we arrive in the historic west coast town of Queenstown.
Day 6 – Gordon River Wilderness Cruise
One of the true highlights of the tour awaits today. Departing from Strahan, we embark on a breathtaking Gordon River Wilderness Cruise through the heart of Tasmania’s World Heritage wilderness. Cruise across Macquarie Harbour, visit the ancient rainforest at Heritage Landing, see the ruins of Sarah Island and experience the serenity of one of Australia’s most remarkable natural environments.
Day 7 – Cradle Mountain & Sheffield
Today we discover the iconic beauty of Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park. Travelling by shuttle to Dove Lake, you’ll enjoy magnificent views of one of Tasmania’s most photographed landmarks. This afternoon we visit Sheffield, the famous “Town of Murals”, before continuing to the picturesque Tamar Valley region for our final night in Tasmania.
Day 8 – Launceston & Homeward Bound
Before departing Tasmania, we enjoy sightseeing around Launceston, including a visit to the spectacular Cataract Gorge, one of the city’s most treasured natural attractions.
