Day 1 – Journey to Albury
Sit back and enjoy the changing scenery as we travel through Victoria’s countryside towards North East Victoria. Along the way we visit the historic township of Chiltern, renowned for its beautifully preserved gold rush streetscape and National Trust buildings. This afternoon we continue to Albury, where we settle in for our overnight stay and enjoy dinner with our fellow travellers.
Day 2 – Canberra to Batemans Bay
Today we travel north through regional New South Wales, stopping in Canberra for a brief sightseeing tour of Australia’s capital city, including the Parliamentary Triangle precinct. After lunch we continue through historic Braidwood before descending the spectacular Clyde Mountain escarpment to the coast. Arriving in Batemans Bay, our home for the next three nights, we settle into our accommodation overlooking Corrigans Beach.
Day 3 – Mogo Wildlife Park & Eurobodalla Coast
This morning we visit the renowned Mogo Wildlife Park, home to an impressive collection of rare and endangered animals from around the world. Following our visit, enjoy time to explore the historic village of Mogo, with its collection of specialty shops, galleries and local crafts. After lunch in Batemans Bay, we travel through Murramarang National Park and visit beautiful Cookies Beach, famous for its resident kangaroo population and picturesque coastal setting.
Day 4 – Ulladulla, Mollymook & Jervis Bay Dolphin Cruise
A highlight of the tour, today we explore the stunning Shoalhaven Coast. Travelling through Ulladulla and Mollymook, we enjoy spectacular ocean views before arriving at Huskisson on the shores of magnificent Jervis Bay. After lunch, we board a dolphin watching cruise and discover the crystal-clear waters that make Jervis Bay one of Australia’s most beautiful marine environments. Keep watch for the resident bottlenose dolphins that call these waters home throughout the year.
Day 5 – Sapphire Coast to Lakes Entrance
After breakfast we farewell Batemans Bay and begin our scenic journey south along the New South Wales Sapphire Coast. Travelling through Narooma, Bega and Merimbula, we enjoy beautiful coastal scenery and charming seaside towns before crossing into Victoria. Continuing through East Gippsland, we arrive in Lakes Entrance for our overnight stay on the shores of Australia’s largest inland waterway system.
Day 6 – Metung, East Gippsland & Journey Home
This morning we visit the picturesque waterfront village of Metung before continuing to Bairnsdale, where we explore the famous St Mary’s Church, renowned for its remarkable murals painted by Italian artist Francesco Floreani. After lunch we begin our journey home through Gippsland, arriving with wonderful memories of the South Coast, Sapphire Coast and Eurobodalla region.
